I received the charger and the LED would not work while it was supposed to be charging, and the battery voltage didn't go up even after hours of charging.

After looking at the charging well contacts and the contacts on the battery, I saw that the charger was assembled incorrectly: the negative contact that should have been on the side opposite the positive was on the end.

I disassembled the charger, moved that end contact to the side slot then reassembled it. The battery started charging with the LED on, and the battery voltage had gone up considerably after an hour charging.

I wonder how many of those with 'defective' chargers had the same assembly defect.

As others have noted, this charger has limited success. After a long time searching and buying and returning this charger, I believe I have found a solution for people looking for a replacement 19.2V charger for Kawasaki 19.2V "Unisource" tools:

Search by the Kawasaki charger product number 570033. This includes the necessary adapter. An Amazon search brings up "Kawasaki 570033 19.2V Adapter and Charger" for ~$12, which should work with the Kawasaki batteries!

Opened it up, plugged it in- noticed the red light does not come on AND the unit makes a really loud humming noise. Went ahead and put a battery in it to charge anyway and checked the next day- didn't charge it at all. So... sent a note to the seller, and they sent me another one. Attempt number 2- plugged it in... red light doesn't come on, but this one doesn't make any noise at all. Tried to charge a battery with it- unsurprisingly, it didn't charge the battery at all. Not sure it's worth bothering to try a third.
This item has gotten terrible reviews, but it's the only choice out there and wasn't very expensive anyway so I thought I'd give it a shot- now I know better- I'd have been better off just buying a cheapo full cordless drill set that would have come with a actual working charger.

First ordered charger unit was bad. Charging indicator stays off. Got another unit as replacement..same thing..charging lamp NEVER GOES ON. USELESS
