run a 1 acre area and then a 1+ acre area off of this unit, seems to have plenty of power, the horses wont go near it:)

Easy ordering online and less expensive than at lowes . Product operates flawlessly and the cows haven gotten out of the field since the install. Order came quickly and packaged efficiently.

I live in the county and there are a lot of deer about - so having a garden can be a challenge. My 5 acre unit went bad after two years, so picked up 20 acre model. One complaint I had able the smaller unit is the deer sometimes push into the wire before it "zaps" them. While they never broke it, it does leave it sagging and needing tightening up periodically. Well not with this unit! After installing it, i walked the fence and discovered one of the insulators arching about 1/2 inch to the frame (way cool!) Cant wait for the deer to discover this new unit ;-)

PS: before you get upset saying i am mean to the deer, consider my other option to keep them out of the garden is much more.. terminal :-P

I have read the other reviews that say that this controller works awesome and i has plenty of power. sounded good so i ordered it, and it shipped quickly. the set up was easy, but no instructions came with it. just common sence i suppose. long story short, the controller has a very weak charge. i have a great dane and a pit bull. they dont seem to be affected by it at all. the indicator light on the controller was blinking green for good to go. curious, i touched it myself to make sure it was hot, nothing a first then a little shock. not bad at all. this was at the end of my fence, so i walked right up to the controller an touched the wire right at the first fence insulator. same thing a very weak shock that doesnt faze me or my determined doges. i suggest if you have big dogs, get something bigger. dont know how horses cant handle it.
