Strange choice in which thread pitches to coverDec 11, 2011

I purchased this thread gauge mainly for working on bicycles.

On older English bicycles made by Raleigh the Bottom Bracket and Headset threading is 26tpi rather than the more common 24tpi.

Unfortunately this makers of this gauge seemed fit to skip 26tpi and instead include a gauge for 27tpi. In fact, they skip directly from 24 to 27 and leave out everything in between I've never encounter a 27tpi thread in my life working on cars, motorcycles, bicycles and as a master electrician. Oh, well. At least they have the 24tpi gauge so I can use the process of elimination.

The thread gauges that ARE included: 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 24, 27, 28, 32, 36, & 40.

I'm a little bit disappointed in this gauge. It is very tiny/cheap and the numbers stamped on each gauge are difficult to read (but I am sure it says 27 as I checked under magnification just to be sure.) The photo makes it look MUCH larger/nicer than it is in reality.

At this price I could have bought a really cheap SAE tap & die set from Harbor Freight for a few more bucks and got a similar low-end cheapo gauge included for free.

My bolts & screws are a mess. This is ideal to straighten them up again. When I moved, they got mixed up. This should make it easier to straighten and label them for efficiency.

I really like the small size of these gauges. They are great for checking the threads inside a hole or nut.
