Good for bugs, Excellent for tarDec 04, 2010

I have been detailing cars for over 20 years, and Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Remover has always been in my arsenal of cleaning suppliers. It is simply the best at removing road tar! My cars accumulate a lot of road tar behind the wheels, and Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Remover always takes off the tar with very little effort. It takes off bugs as well, but you need to do a little rubbing to get stubborn bug guts off.

Overall, it is a great product that I will continue to use.

I just used this product on a brand new VW Beetle. I had parked under a tree and the Parrots dumped all over the top of the car front to back.
Also, it had sat that way all day long in the heat so it was pretty baked on.
The Turtle Wax Bug & Tar cleaner didn't get it all off 100% but it did get most of it off. I think it's going to take a while.
But I am pleased. It did better than I thought it would.

It removes tar (and sap) right away. Not quite as efficient for bugs and bird droppings, though.

I found that spraying the baked-on bug or bird droppings with water first and then applying this remover works best.

TIP: Using a wet microfiber afterwards, to remove any leftover debris, and a dry one to polish the spot produces good results.

I have tried this on Love bugs and it works fine if you use it right away. Of course, so would soap and water. For bugs that have been on the front of my truck for more than a few hours, it does very little. And the previous reviewer was right; it does make more of a mess and needs to be washed off with soap and water.
