Awesome camp hatchet! Great for digging and chopping into rotten logs for fire starting kentling. Has no problem chopping up firewood either! The hammer is great for driving stakes and the occassional nail around the house. Feels rugged, solid and like it will last a life time!

I love this hatchet! It makes short work of tree roots, and it's great for chopping firewood at the campsite.

Unlike other similar in price hatchets, which you may find in a local super center, this one comes well sharpened along with a rubber blade protector. I love the wooden handle, it reduces the recoil. I also found it easy to resharpen with a wet stone after I used it and missed the firewood a few times, so it hit the rocky ground instead.

It went through 1 - 1 1/2 inch thick pine limbs in one-two strikes like a charm.

THe hatchet is constructed solidly, the angle of the bevel seems like it would be great for chopping efficiently, but on a plank of Alder, all this did out of the box was bounce off leaving a small ding. In comparison my other unknown brand hatchet would put a two inch deep cut in there. Its not a bad design, but just seems like something produced en masse and without care for an edge.
