Pot works fine, but the glass top broke after one use, probably will not "dish-washer" the glass top in future. Get the small Fits-All replacement. Be sure to turn down the heat once the percolating starts, can boil over.

This coffee pot makes a great, freshly brewed pot of coffee. Coffee is not bitter or burnt tasting as I had with a former stove top percolator made by a different company. Although narrower than the smallest burner on my smooth top, that in no way affects its ability to brew a great cup of coffee. If you're looking for a consistent coffee taste, you won't be disappointed with this coffee pot. A key to keeping the glass percolator top from cracking, as I have read in other reviews, is to turn the burner down to low as soon as the water starts to boil and to wash in top rack of dishwasher or remove glass top and wash by hand.

A good-looking coffee pot and makes a good cup of coffee. However, a nine-cup pot actually makes only 8 cups. I really enjoy the smell of fresh coffee being made in the morning and seeing the coffee perculating through the glass top. Nonetheless, after making less than a dozen pots of coffee, while pouring coffee in a cup the glass top just broke off and tumbled into the cup. So order a couple of more glass perculator tops along with the pot because the pot is useless without it.

Willing to 'settle' for strong, bitter drip coffee until I was the one now making it for guests, I chose a stainless steel stovetop percolator. It was the most pleasant, tasteful, smoothest coffee ever. I'll use nothing else.

I really enjoy this old fashioned coffee pot. Once you figure out the amt. of time it takes to get to the percolating stage and the amount of time it takes to percolate the coffee to the right strength you are good to go. It brews delicious piping hot coffee. I wrap the ground coffee in unbleached coffee filters to both keep the grounds out of the coffee cup and to make clean up easy. Never want to go back to the drip type coffee pots.
