A pair of sharp scissors makes the Thermwell insulation a breeze to install. It fits our 40 gal. water heater tank like a glove. After having it for over a month, the hot water has definitely kept its warmth over a longer period as compared previously.

I bought this because my water heater is in my garage, so every time I open the garage, the water heater gets cooled down. This item works very well at keeping the water warm longer.

I also habitually shut off my water heater when I leave for the day, but I'm not as compulsive about turning it back on. And I've had enough water to hand wash dishes and get in the shower on several occasions. Towards the end of the shower, I may notice a bit less heat. Once I inadvertently left it off for two days, and STILL had enough warm water to shower comfortably. And I have long hair.

It's a cheap investment in saving energy. I would recommend this to everyone who can safely use it.

Projects like this work best with a second pair of hands. A little more information on how to install would have been helpful.

Wrap was exactly the right size ... absolutely no room for error. I'm happy with the clear directions and easy of fitting it to my hot water tank. One complaint - not enough tape is supplied for the job. Fortunately, I had read earlier reviews that pointed this out. I was ready for this minor problem. Overall - worth the money!

The instructions say to measure around your water heater and cut accordingly. I did and even add 3-4" to the length.
Well, it was short- measure and cut the height of your heater, but only cut the excess off the width when you have it wrapped around the heater. I also agree with the other reviews, an extra set of hands would of really helped.
