I bought several of these window screens at the same time, and so far I have been pleased. Yes, they are cheaply made, that's why they are so cheap. They function well at letting breeze in without filling your house full of mosquitoes and flies, and you can save a lot of money by not having to turn on the AC very often. That is exactly why I like them.
I would not expect these window screens to do well at keeping out (or in) ants, cats, dogs, burglars, rain, or rambunctious children, because they simply are not that sturdy.

I purchased these screens (after searching for them elsewhere, I should have come to Amazon first, I know now) since my central air will be turned on later this month (May). I usually suffer because my apartment gets stuffy in the interim and if I open the windows the insects come in as well. I purchased 10 of them, they arrived quickly and I love the air while I sleep. A perfect temporary inexpensive fix until the end of the month. Thanks Amazon

I have been looking for screens like these for months and months in our local hardware stores, as well as the Walmart-type stores, but have never found them. I was so happy to see them on Amazon (where I should have looked first) and could not believe how inexpensive they were, how quickly they were shipped and received, and how perfect they are for a fresh-air freak like myself!

I live in an apartment building, and there's a big tree by my window. I brought the screen to help keep the bugs out. It helped a lot. The screen is stong, sturdy, and it fits well in my window.
