The picture shows three wands just like the other sites, but you only get two wands.
Under the product description it does say two wands, unfortunately I just went by
the picture. Evidently they make up for the free shipping by only sending you two wands.

I should have known better. I read reviews from others saying that this item is misrepresented on the site, that they only got 2 wands and not the 3 pictured.
I thought that was because they ordered from 3rd party vendors, so I paid extra to order from Amazon and not a marketplace vendor. (As you can see to the right side, Amazon itself sells these too)

I got two wands. The item is not only pictured with 3 wands, it mentions TWICE in the description that it is THREE WANDS.

You can see in a review from 2009 someone mentioned they got two wands, and they say that at that time although the photo showed three, the description said TWO.
What this means is, Amazon not only hasn't corrected the description for almost two years, they revised it to make it MORE MISLEADING.

To top it off, I was in my local Ace Hardware today and saw that they sell official Shop Vac brand (not knock-offs) in packs of FOUR for the price I paid for TWO.
Called Amazon and was offered $5 credit. Not good enough. The item is clearly misrepresented and has been literally for YEARS. So armed with screen captures I informed Amazon I would be doing a credit card chargeback. Misrepresentation is misrepresentation.

I was then offered a $10 credit. That made it worth it, so I accepted. I was also assured that the information would be forwarded to be corrected. We shall see. Amazon's track record of correcting such mistakes is poor, so it may be another 2 years of ripping people off while this stays misleading.

I do not normally write reviews, as I really don't feel like being an unpaid volunteer worker for a multi-billion dollar corporation, but people need to be warned. Either do not purchase this, or be prepared to call and fight when they AGAIN ship out misrepresented product.

A couple of years is long enough to fix an error. How many people have been ripped off since 2009 and not bothered to complain?

We recently got a Shop-Vac Hang-Up Mini (a small, portable wet/dry vacuum). It came with a hose but no extension wands, so we ordered these as accessories to go with it.

We ordered quantity one of this item, and received a package containing three wands. The package is typical retail -- clear blow-mold plastic covering the front, printed card stock for the back -- and clearly designed to hold 3 wands. I can only assume that some third-party sellers are short-changing people. We bought from Amazon itself. So make sure you *buy from Amazon* and I'm guessing you'll be good. Multiple sellers using Amazon Marketplace carry this item, so *on* Amazon doesn't mean *from* Amazon.)

The wands themselves seem fine. Typical hard plastic material. They fit snugly but come apart easily. I expect they will last for years.

Each wand is about 14 inches long. This is somewhat shorter than your typical home vacuum extension wand. That's perfectly appropriate for our compact vacuum, but keep that in mind. Stacked together, the total length is about 38 inches. Each wand inserts into the next, so you loose some length that way.

I picked this extension wand up at my local Menards for $7.99 and it was well worth the money. The three pieces of the wand fit together snugly without falling apart at the wrong times. As an added bonus, this wand works perfectly with my little DeWalt portable vacuum.

For what it is, I highly recommend this product.
