5Shop-Vac Has Never DisappointedMay 21, 2007

I've never been disappointed by Shop-Vac products and the All Around Plus is no exception. I finally had to part with two ancient 1.5 hp vacs (over 15 years old). They still worked fine but I wanted to take advantage of the new features and design with this unit. The biggest problem with the old vacs is that they tended to tip over on the small casters, had short cords and no place to store attachments. The All Around Plus has large wheels, will not tip over, has very long cord and plenty of storage for attachments. It's perfect for the around the house, garage, and basement. Plenty of power and all the features you need in a shop vacuum.

this vacuum is quite versatile and convient for around the house and garage type chores, works quite well, and reasonably priced too. but good luck finding the overpriced dry filter bags for this one. shop vacs own site barely acknowledges its existance and even knowing that you need catalog number 919-64-00 is of little help. no one carries the bags or filters locally, even in a relatively large metro area like Denver. Indeed you can go without the filter bag, but its quite messy as others have mentioned. At Shop Vacs own site 2 packs of bags (four total) with the cheapest shipping will set you back$27.00!

Bags for this vac are hard to find, BUT...Just go to Lowes Hardward store and ask them to special order them for you. Less than $7.00 for a package of 2 and no shipping or handling costs! You'll need the catalog number 919-64-00.

We love the vacuum cleaner, but as the previous poster stated the bags are now hard to find. We used to be able to get them at Sears. However they are available through the shop-vac website. But you actually have to enter the bag number 919-64-00 in the search box that comes up after you enter the accessory link. This is not very intuitive.

You can also just use a cartridge or foam filter, which works as well, but then you have to empty the vac and shake out the filter, which is messy.

I have had this vac for 3 years now and it still works great. I would agree that finding bags is a problem, but I always order a few at a time to save on shipping. It is a bit loud for a home vacuum, but it seems to pick up fine dust as well as pet hair on the floor (I still have to brush off my furniture for pet hair, it does not do the work for you). This is a no fuss powerful sucking vacuum with simple attachments. Four stars is only for the noise and for the bag trouble, otherwise this is a great choice for someone who does not want to spend a lot on a fancy vacuum, but wants one that works.
