There's not much information on this item to be found on this product page, so in the interest of those who may be interested, here's what this product does.
If your fridge is full of spots
Don't take a pen and join the dots
Just lightly sand off all loose rust
And wipe it clean (this is a must)
When it's nicely clean and dry
Give this great spray paint a try
Put a drop cloth on the ground
And cover everything around
Shake the tin to stir it up
It'll sound like balls in a tin cup
In one direction you should spray
Holding eight inches away
It really saves a lot of time
Because there is no need to prime
And if the spots are still in view
Wait a bit then spray coat two
But that's not all - Appliance Epoxy also comes in Almond, Biscuit, Black and Stainless Steel in the spray can version, each can covering between 15 to 18 square feet. It's also available in quart tins in White only, and in Touch-Up version (looks like a bottle of White-Out) in White and Almond.
It provides a hard, moisture resistant finish for indoor metal surfaces, including fridges, freezers, washing machines, dishwashers, cabinets and towel bars, among others, but is not designed for stoves or ovens or anywhere heat is a factor.
In a nutshell, this is a DIY product that can save you having to buy new appliances when your old ones start getting rust spots, or when you just want to change your color scheme.

Hint: To prevent those rust spots in the first place, use clear car wax on your appliances at least once every four months or so, and the wax will form a moisture proof barrier to stop water from penetrating down to the metal.

I had a black refrigerator that was showing signs of wear. So I decided to give this a try. It went so well, that I tried it on other things like a stainless steel gun barrel, steel mail box, and stainless steel stool. I know, I just went painting crazy when my first project went so well.
The Gloss black made my refrigerator look new again. The finish is actually so durable that it was even more scratch resistant than the original finish on it. Mind you, I did spend a good deal of time prepping the surface before painting it. I sanded the surface and cleaned/degreased the surface. Then I applied it in thin coats. I waited 1 day before touching it again. The epoxy hardened evenly and did not run at all.
On the barrel of my old Smith and Wesson pistol that has a stainless steel barrel with a gloss black finish, it also worked very well. The original black paint from Smith & Wesson that was on my gun was easily scratched. So, I sanded the barrel, put painters tape to cover both ends othe barrel, cleaned it and painted. I waited 24 hours before touching it, but i was very happy with the result. It is a little glossier than it was originally, but I was really looking for a hard protective coat on my gun. And it is indeed hard. I took it to the range, and even used gun cleaner on it and it did not damage the finish. I have used Gun Kote before, and this is more durable. Although, Gun Kote has more choices in finish. So I might just add some Gun Kote accents to the finish.
The Mailbox had rust so I actually applied rust remover, sanded it and painted it. It has not rusted yet, and the finish is very nice in Gloss black.
Although it is hard, it is possible to scratch it obviously. So I called Rust-Oleum, and I actually got to speak to a product specialist named Nicky, and she was very helpful and gave me advice on how to touch up the scratch test it did to my mailbox. She even told me she will send me a complimentary touch up kit to fix what I did on my little experiment. Amazing customer service. Kudos to Rust-Oleum.
UPDATE 01/20/2011:
After using it, it seems like it is a slow cure epoxy. It is ok to touch it after 24 hours, but wait 2 weeks before actually reassembling or using hte item you painted. Slower curing gives a better bond to the substrate, so it gives better long term bond.
I also received the free touch up kit from Rust-Oleum. Thanks for that.

We made our purchase for this as all our appliances and small appliances in our home are black. Purchasing a new fridge was out of the question, so we went ahead and bought 5 cans. We highly recommend doing this outside as our sun porch now has black spray paint on the walls, trim and floor, and also wipe the fridge with a cleaner extremely well, and do not touch once cleaned. This sprayed on nice and even and we only needed two coats on our white fridge. We are very pleased with the overall look and the best thing is we do not have to go purchase a new fridge now! Great product and highly recommend if you are like me and need the change but do not want to purchase a completely new appliance!

I bought this to spray a rusted fridge. It was in a really bad condition so I assumed at most it would be all the same colour but would still show signs that it was previously rusted. By the way I know absolutely nothing about these kinds of things. It turned out great; I even sprayed it in my living room! It now looks completely new and my fiancé could not believe I had done it by myself. So I would definitely recommend this product.

Mom wanted her brown enamel oven painted white. I was very hesitant about attempting to change the color of her oven. I used this product applying several coats after some minor sanding. It came out great. I swear it's looks like a factory paint job. It has that hard shiny enamel finish that you see on kitchen appliances. I won't be hesitant next time someone ask me to refinish their appliance. Good Stuff!!
