5SureGrip lives up to it's nameMar 09, 2010

Zinsser SureGrip Seam & Repair Adhesive works great. I had several places in the bathroom where the wallpaper was coming loose at the seams. I thought that I would have to replace it. But before going through that expensive repair I thought I would try out this product first and to my amazement you can't even tell where it has been repaired, it is as good as new. The only thing I would suggest is that you use some painters tape to hold the seam in place over night as it dries. The tape will come off with no problems the next day... well worth trying it out.

I have seen a lot of claims on a lot of products over the years but this Zinsser seam and repair adhesive for wall paper really works. After my wife did a amateur wallpaper job it was a mess with so many curling seams I couldn't believe it. Checked on the internet and found this product so figured what the heck I will give it a shot as I had nothing to lose now. Worked just like advertised and saved the day on this job. Never again will I let her talk me into wallpaper but it doesn't look too bad now that I repaired the loose and curled seams with this.

My wife has been trying to paste down wall cloth that wasn't aligned properly by the "professional" who did the original installation. Nothing worked, until she used this stuff. It worked fine, and the wall looks much better.

I purchased this based on the reviews here and I couldn't disagree more. First off, it comes out like water so it is impossible not to make a mess when dispensing it. Most importantly, it does NOT stick. I put a small amount (they say thin layer) on a clean drywall and wallpaper curled seam and held it for 30 seconds. (Directions say to hold for only 10 seconds) After I let go, the glue just ran down the wall and both pieces of wallpaper curled right back up again. I tried this two more times holding for up to a minute and the results were the same. Web instructions say to try moistening the paper and wall and let dry, still wouldn't stick. This was a complete waste of money, and I threw it right in the garbage.

Product was a big letdown. The container has a long applicator tip, but is the type that needs to be sliced open and has no cap. If you are not going to use it all at once, the rest is going to dry or leak out.

You must shake the stuff to try to get it to mix, and even then I couldn't make it mix. As a result, I got water and white paste out despite trying very hard to mix it.

Thus it dried WHITE, not clear, and didn't bind anything well.
