5Perfect for my needsDec 07, 2007
By Becky Newson "jbnewson"
I've gone through quite a few plastic drink bottles over the last few years. Many have been difficult to clean, or not convenient to drink out of, etc. But this bottle has been perfect for me ever since I bought it several months ago. The 32oz size makes it easy for me to track how much water I'm consuming. The flip-top lid is EASY to use, and still very secure. I often toss a full bottle into the diaper bag as I run out the door with my kids, and I've never had a leak. It pops easily down into place, and can still be opened with one hand. The opening of the mouth is just wide enough to be comfortable to use, and allows me to drink at a nice pace, instead of being limited by the flow rate of a straw or a typical pop-up sports top with suction coming into play. The lid screws on easily, and it's very easy to fit ice into the container for a cold drink as well. It fits into the cupholders in my vehicle, and washes easily in the dishwasher. All for a *very* affordable price! I'm thrilled to finally have found a drink bottle that will actually last for me. I'm also very pleased that the plastic type is #5, as I've been more careful about purchasing plastics free of bisphenol-a.

5Best bottle, look no further!Jun 10, 2008
By Amozarte
I'm a big fan of water. I drink so much it's probably not healthy and I always had a hard time finding a decent bottle. My search ended when I found the "Sip n Chug" line from Rubbermaid.

Just add this to your cart and buy it now, you won't be let down!!

But if you need a little convincing, here's why I love them:

-The bottles have a nice wide hole to drink from, so there's no sucking until you're blue in the face.

-The lid screws on tight with a rubber gasket to prevent leaks- I've had a bottle go toppling around my car without any spillage whatsoever!

-The flip top opens easily with just a flick of your thumb, but only when you want it to. It's snaps shut to prevent it from leaking.

-The bottle and cap are completely dishwasher safe. No warping even after numerous washes!

-The plastic is nice and sturdy, but has textured surfaces on both sides for a nice solid grip.

-The plastic does NOT contain nasty chemicals that might make you sick

-They are dirt cheap!!! I challenge you to find another bottle under $5 that performs as well as these.

A few notes:
-If this bottle is too big (it holds 1L/32oz) try this smaller 20oz version: Rubbermaid #3161-RD-EDAY1 20OZ SpaBLU Chug Bottle
-The bottle I received had a green cap, not a blue one. I'm personally not picky, but if you are you'll want to be aware.

5sometimes old standby's fit the bill......May 13, 2008

like many folks trudging towards enviro-friendly lifestyles-banishing my purchases of prefilled bottled water was a must. So I started researching my choices for refillable bottles. I quickly found many issues with most offerings. Most were in the $15-$20 range-unrealistic for our family's budget. Other bottles had very narrow necks-which looked almost impossible to clean. Finally, the issue of BPA's was introduced into the mix and I began to get worried that I'd never find a safe, cheap, and easy to clean product.

Luckily, while shopping at the "big red dot" one day I found this product. It is perfect. While holding a substantial 32 ounces, it's also built to fit in a drink holder (though it's height may lead you to have to cool the bottle in your fridges door compartment). It doesn't seem to leak, and it's wide opening is easy to clean and refill. According to Rubbermaid's website, the plastic used is BPA FREE. Best of all, cost wise the bottle was less than $4! Rubbermaid offers several other bottle choices, including a pull up water bottle type lid-though I much prefer this flip top, drinkable version cause frankly I don't want to have to suck on a bottle all day.

I would highly recommend this Rubbermaid product for those like me, looking for a economical but also environmental water bottle.

5Replaces bottles of water and pitchers, too. Wow!Dec 09, 2008
By Dr. Littlejohn "Book lover"
I bought these bottles on a whim - and I'm glad that I did. I like it for all of the reasons that others have said - a generous 32 oz, fits in cup holder, it is easy to clean, it has no straw to get crudded up and lost, press firmly and the lid snaps in place to let me know it's sealed, it's nice looking, and I can chug it. The other thing no one has mentioned yet is that it has markings on it in both oz and ml to let you know the volume in the container - a nice touch.

That's why I like it, here's why I love it. I used to buy water in bottles for the taste (expensive, filled up recycle/waste bins too fast) and use pitchers for tea (could not carry it with me to gym and restaurants). Now, I use these Rubbermaid Chuggs for everything. So, if I'm preparing tea, I just run the water through a carbon filter, make the tea, pour it directly into 2 Chuggs, and it's ready to go. It's wide enough to put ice in if I want to drink it right away or put it in the refrigerator for the next morning. 8 cups = 2 Chuggs so it's really easy. It's cheap. It's convenient. And, it tastes great so I'm sure to drink my water! (And for those helpful critics - Yeah, yeah, plain water is better, but it won't do you any good if you don't drink it.)

Here's the best of the best... I have different chug bottles, so each one can be filled with a different beverages - camomile tea, green tea, black tea, lemonade, juice, etc. And, when I headed out, I just grab one or two Chuggs. I don't know what is in them, so my taste buds are entertained - which is nice as variety isn't so easy for single people to do so economically. It's not a chore to drink from. In fact, I'm always surprised when I discover that I've already finished the last drop.

So, in summary, what I like best about the Chug is that this design is replacing my bottled water, drinking from glasses, pitchers and jugs, and soon I will no longer buy beverages in restaurants (which now costs twice as much as they used to be, not many choices for those who want sugar free and non carbonated). Rubbermaid hit a home run with this one.

5Good, cheap water bottleJul 11, 2011
By ARC
I've had one of these bottles for several months and recently picked up some more.

Pros:
-Both the cap and the bottom have held up to being tossed around in my briefcase among other, heavier things.
-The seal hasn't leaked on me.
-The top flap stays pretty snug when you close it.
-It fits in the cupholders in my little sedan.
-It comes in a few colors, which aside from giving it a little flair also make it easy to alternate bottles.

Cons:
-You'll want to pop the top flap before you drive off if you want to drink it in the car. As I said above, it's snug, so you can't really do that safely while you're driving.

All in all, it's a no-frills but pretty reliable water bottle that doesn't cost much. I wish Rubbermaid had something similar for tea/coffee, but for cold beverages this works well.
