If you need to seal it, stick it, or dampen it, Permatex Silicone Adhesive is the only choice! You can use it as weather stripping around your windows, or like a rubber stopper to keep a door from rattling. I have even used it on upholstery to keep it from fraying were fabric was missing.

I used Permatex Part 16B to attach an aluminum plate to the side of a magnesium panel on the side of a motorcycle engine. (The aluminum plate is meant to protect the light but brittle magnesium from punctures.) It's held well for years in spite of the heat and abuse it's taken.

This stuff is messy so cover whatever you don't want to get it on with masking tape and plastic sheets or whatever else is handy. You can clean it up with acetone before it cures.

It's difficult to get off once it's cured. You can get it off with a good heat gun; the cheap heat guns don't put out enough heat to do the job. The manufacturer says it's heat resistant to 450 degrees, so heat it up until it becomes soft and then you can carefully pull apart whatever it is you've glued together.

Used this to seal the gap in the drill hole in my door panel where I installed my tweeter. As you might expect, it is a bit difficult to get it all applied just as you want, but that's a limitation of silicone itself rather than this product. When applied correctly it makes a solid, somewhat flexible seal that looks good on my door panel's black vinyl.

Unlike regualr silicone RTV silicone stays flexable, but don't get it on your hands,it is very hard to get off.
