I ordered this slicer based on the picture, showing 12 sections, however when the actual slicer arrived, it had only 10 sections in it. Be aware if you are looking for a 12 section slicer, this one does NOT have 12 sections as shown in the picture, but only 10 sections.

I purchased this item even though it says 12 slices and the reviews says 10. I was aware of the difference but made the purchase anyway. It is 10 even though it is advertised as 12. I didn't care. There is a problem though...it's terrible! The "blades" are not really blades because they are so dull. It requires a lot of pressure to "cut" the apples and in the end the apples are not cut they are smashed. Also, no where on the package does it say the devise is not dishwasher safe, but it is not dishwasher safe. After two washings the dishwasher has taken off all the chrome and it is now down to the bare aluminum. This is a terrible devise. Do not buy it you will regret it!

The picture shows a slicer capable of creating 12 wedges. The Product Description states, "Stainless steel blades. Cut[sic] apples into 12 sections." However, the unit shipped will only slice 10 wedges. I give it 2 stars for actually cutting those 10 wedges, but after being mislead, I can only recommend a product from another manufacturer that doesn't misrepresent their product.

Love it, all metal, used for a couple months, no problems. Like the ten slices compared to most having eight.
