5A MUST HAVE - Way better than a grapefruit spoon!Jan 06, 2011
By Deepseabc "BC"
It might be hard to tell from the picture or "drawing" of this knife, but one end of this knife has a curved blade for slicing around the circumfrance of the grapefruit. The other end has two parallel serrated blades that you place on either side of the grapefruit membrane and essentially cut each "spoke" with one pass.

I have found this knife works far better than any other knife or spoon I have used. I can not compare it to other knives of this style (double-ended) but I have found it to be the most fastest most efficient way to remove the grapefruit from the rind. Additionally I would argue that it physically removes more fruit and creates less waste than a grapefruit spoon or single ended knife.

The only downside is you must rinse the blade clean after use. If you let the the pulp dry in between the blades its very difficult to clean. Your best bet here would be to soak the knife and let the pulp re-hydrate so it rinses clean.

If you don't purchase this specific knife I definitely recommend purchasing one of this style. You won't be disappointed.

5Prepare a GrapefruitJun 20, 2010
By J. Kirkland
My wife loves this knife for preparing her morning Grapefruit. When she visits her parents in Texas her mother has a Grapefruit knife and it works really slick the split blade cuts between fruit and membrane making it easy to prepare for the best part, eating.

2Too sharp!Dec 28, 2010
By Eric Hill
I bought this knife to use at my mother-in-law's house when we visit so I can cut grapefruit. Unfortunately, it has the same problem that so many grapefruit knives have - its large, sharp serrations make the knife too sharp, so that the blade easily cuts through the membrane. Good grapefruit knives, which are hard to find, have tiny serrations that are not that sharp, so that when you are cutting the sections, you can go right up to the membrane without the fear of cutting through it. The Norpro fails this test.

5Genius!Apr 06, 2012

This grapefruit knife is far superior to others. One end of it is curved, so you can release the segments from the outer rind. This in and of itself is not remarkable since all grapefruit knives typically will include this feature. But what makes this knife special is the OTHER end. The blade is split in the middle essentially resulting in two blades, which are perfectly spaced to allow them to slide in on each side of the membrane that separates the segments of fruit. As a result, it takes half as much time to release the fruit with this knife as it does with other knives, allowing you to get to the fun part faster - the EATING of the grapefruit! Seriously, folks, this is one cool knife! After using it, you don't even need one of those grapefruit spoons with the serated edge - the fruit is already separated and ready to eat! Really a brilliant design. I wish I would have thought of it. :-) I liked it so much I bought a second one to take to work.

5Greatest invention ever for preparing a grapefruit to eatMar 31, 2012
By Myron
My wife and I rent a condo in Florida for 3 months every year. We enjoy fresh grapefruit and over the years
have always prepared it with a plain paring knife. We found this Norpro Squirtless Grafefruit knife in the
kitchen utensil drawer this year and started preparing grapefruit with it. I told my wife that this is the greatest invention for preparing the grapefruit I have ever seen. The knife is very easy to use and I now enjoy
preparing the grapefruit. I went on line to Amazon.com and found the Norpro Knife and purchased it.

Thanks Norpro!!
