3Girls love it - but not very durableApr 04, 2011

Used these lights to decorate the girls' bedroom. The lights are completely encased in a plastic tube, and you can string multiple tubes of lights together. It's easy to wrap this around whatever you'd like to decorate.

However, the lights are very susceptible to being wrapped or turned too tightly. The manual cautions against this - despite being careful, within a few weeks a section of the lights went intermittent. Now I have to fiddle with the placement of the tube to get it to work.

I really like the fact that you can buy multiple strands and disconnect the plug from on strand and plug the strand directly into the first strand so the lights continue without interruption. The only problem for me is that it is not quite as bright as I was hoping.

I got 4 strings of these lights to 'frame' my driveway, strung over two trees. They went up like a dream, very pretty display.

2NOT LED - Beware if you care!Nov 14, 2011

Before buying these, I had two strands of LED rope lights. When plugged in and turned on, both LED strips combined used about 1Watt of power.... With only one strand of these neo neon lights, I was amazed to see 40Watts of power consumption. Considering how dim these are, this is not ok. For reference, a standard household fluorescent lightbulb uses about 15 watts. If the energy use bothers you, don't get these lights.

Update: Day 2, two bulbs are now out. Doesn't look good at this point.

Nice lights that work well. Wrapped them around kids bunk beds for a nice glow while they sleep. Good quality and are still working nice after about 6 months.
