OEM part to fix your faucetJul 26, 2009

What more could you ask for? It fits, and if you break your original handle off, this will allow you to fix it in about five minutes.

Moen's design is uncharacteristically stupid. Expecting a single 2mm screw to bear all the stress when the handle provides about a 10-to-1 lever force on the screw is just plain stupid. However, that doesn't affect the replacement part, just the original faucet. The replacement works, and that's what counts.

I ordered it using the part# from MOEN's web site. The item was without any surprises - as was shown on the picture and on the MOEN's web site.

Does the job, but hard to identify the right kitAug 14, 2010

This replacement kit gets a good review for saving me from having to buy a new faucet. It's also nice that they include the little hex screwdriver, since it may not be part of a standard home toolbox. I only have two complaints. 1. The little black plastic part (which is what actually breaks) should not be made of plastic. It bears all the load of the handle movement, so I can only assume that the choice of materials is intended to get people to buy a brand new Moen faucet when it breaks after a few years. 2. Unless you saved the documentation on your original faucet, you're probably going to spend a lot of time online trying to figure out whether this is the right replacement kit for your model.
