Save money buying these flappers for Toto commodesSep 12, 2010

I have five Toto commodes: 2 G-Max (blue flapper) and 3 Ultimates (red flapper). The last few times that I had to replace the Toto tank flappers, I bought them from a local plumbing supply house across town as another reviewer posted. I was paying almost $20/flapper and the supply house did not have any identifying packaging on the flappers I bought from them and all items were opened and put Willy-Nilly in a plain shoe box type box. I have ordered flush arms from the local supply house, too, and they are in a plain plastic bag with no packaging which bugged me.

I decided to order these blue flappers and the red ones for my other commode. Wah-lah! These are the same flappers the plumbing company provided to me as Toto original flappers, but charged me almost $20 a flapper... plus they charged a fortune for shipping.

Since I replace flappers almost yearly, (because I use those bleach tablets in the tank water that will eat up any flapper,) I ordered 2 flappers for each of my commodes. This Amazon seller only charged me like $4.50 shipping for all ten flappers!!! I came out cheaper buying these 10 plus shipping than I would have had I bought 4 flappers from the plumber with shipping!!!

These flappers work perfecting. I would not hesitate ordering any replacement parts at all from Lavelle Industries or this seller.

I had bought original Toto parts online before and there is a slight difference to the flapper, but not much. The local supply house had charged me the same price for these 'generic' flappers as the original Toto replacement flapper, but called these the original parts! I knew better. The reason I think the plumbing company thought they could get away with the bait and switch on me was because 'Toto' is printed on the top part of the Lavelle flapper; you cannot see that in the photos, nor was it visible in the actual product packaging as shipped from this supplier.

These flapper replacements all came shipped with an ADJUSTABLE CHAIN, so adjust it to fit your flushing preferences, in their own professional packaging on a printed, shrink wrapped type card that could be hung up in a store -Vs- thrown in a box with no packaging.

I ordered this replacement flapper for a Toto Dorian One Piece Toilet MS914114. It installed perfectly and works just fine.

Before I found this substitute at Amazon I had previously ordered them from a local plumber who did not stock them and had to order them from the distributor.

Dealing with Amazon is much easier as I had to make two trips to the plumbing supply house. The TOTO flapper #THU140S and the Lavelle Model #2022BP are equivalent.

I ordered two, one to immediately install and one in reserve; the installed one is working perfectly.

Perfect no brand name replacement for the Toto toilet.
The toilet itself is another story, highly overpriced & needs constant babysitting (no pun intended).

Better than the original at a fraction of the cost. Fit perfectly my TOTO toilet. My TOTO toilet was 8 years old and now it flushes like a brand new toilet. I give A+ to Korky.
