This product is junk. I bought 2 and both did not work. When I called the Company's customer service, I was verbally assaulted by a customer service representative. The customer rep was rude and the immediate assumption was that I must have done something wrong. I was treated like a novice. I don't think that someone with an engineering degree would find setting up this simple device a challenge. I threw both products in the trash and bought one made by another Company and it works great. Don't buy any product made by La Crosse.

3transmitter fails regularlyJan 08, 2012

I like the product but this is the third time I've purchased one due to failure of the transmitter. It is less expensive to purchase the set than just a replacement transmitter. I have two extra display units now, in case one of those fails! The display fits perfectly in an area where the wife wants it hung. Otherwise I would move on and buy something different.

The outside transmitter is 50 feet away, through several walls. It is placed under the electrical meter, on a small shelf (do not place in sun or where it will get very wet) and the signal is strong and the reading is accurate within a degree.
