I have been and electronics tech and ham radio operator for a long time and I do my own electrical work. I had one of there's a long time ago and it was good but this is great. I have to be able to cut and trim large and small solid and stranded wire. This also has a better crimp system than the old model and better than any other multitool I have used. You can spend more and get separate stripper that will do every thing but blow your nose and there are better crimper's. But this is a hell of a combo. It wastes no space it even has a large cutter that will cut up to 10/3 power cord. I have some dikes that are big enough to do the job but they don't work on rubber sided large stranded cable. It just pinches it. Before now I'd have to get out the saber saw with a steel bit and cut it. It cut that cable with no problem and in one cut. It also does a great job of stripping.
I've been doing electronic and some electrical work for over 20 years and I love it. An electrician told me about this model.
Would I buy it again (yes)
Would I recommend it to a friend (yes with out hesitation)
Do I know of a better one (have not found one yet)

I figured if it was a Klein product it would be good. How wrong I was. One side must have been bent or something, because the cutter blades nearest the grip were jamming against each other, preventing the plier from fully closing. The cutter nearer the pivot wouldn't cut 10ga. stranded automotive wire, no matter how they were adjusted/aligned. It only skinned the insulation and bent the wire. Good design, poor execution. Klein should be ashamed.

Just starting out as an apprentice and wanted to a good tool for cutting and stripping wire. These are it. Very versatile and strong. The picture on the listing must be old as the Klein 1001 Multi-Purpose tool looks just a little different now. They need to update the photo. However, tool is a good buy.

overall satisfied but disappointed that i was sent klein part #1002 instead of part #1001 like i had ordered. If i had known my order would have been filled with #1002 i would not have ordered them as my workers here dont like that particular style.
