4Snowbrush ReviewMar 30, 2010
By Ian M. Sterne "Ian S."
Got this snow brush when my last brush broke in the great 2010 DC snow storm. Although it understandably did not arrive in time to help with that storm we did have a dusting a few weeks latter where it proved to be just as efficient as its predecessor. Its light weight, but can give you reach when you need it thanks to its telescoping arm. Worked very well at sweeping off the snow and chiseling off the ice from my back window and lights (always remember to clean your lights of snow and ice too!). Its size makes easy to store in my trunk and yellow color make it easy to see and grab when I need it. Overall a great product at a good price.

5Great For Snow DaysFeb 12, 2011

Great for removing ice and snow from your car without getting it all over yourself. The telescoping handle does the trick nicely.

5Ice and snow be warnedFeb 25, 2012

This is by far the best snow and ice brush I have ever used. The scrapper on this thing will tear up any ice on your window, if the flat blade will not work, break it up with the grooved side and then the flat blade will scrape it off like a hot knife through butter. Being able to extend the handle for brushing snow keeps your hands clear of getting wet and cold, very strong and sturdy.

2Rather cumbersome to useNov 21, 2011

I bought two of the Hopkins non-telescoping snow brushes back in the late 1990's thinking dad might want it for the new SUV he bought. I kept one for my Bonneville. Both style brushes look identical. They came in 4-5 different colors at that time..

It looks like a nice snow brush with a wide brush, but it is rather hard to sweep snow off the car with it. It seems heavy and the center weight/balance is off. The stiff bristle don't give when you sweep and it makes it difficult to move the snow off the car. Heavier, wetter snow was more difficlut to move. For comaparison test, I tried one of the older bruashes we had that has two rows bristle, and a thin flat wood handle that is easy to grip and I could swing it across the roof, hood and trunk like a NY Yankee batter hitting a homer. Because the bristles are so stiff it is hard to get in some recesses & crevices that some cars have. It was very difficult trying to sweep out the gap at the back of the hood where the windshield wipers go down into. It did work well usung two hands holding the brush vertical sweeping the sides of a Lincoln Navigator.

The round Hopkins handle brush rotates in your hand (especially if u got a cloth glove on) if the snow is deep and heavy. A flat handle would have been much better design. I found myself at time usung two hands to manuver the Hopkins. I never used the ice scraper because I didn't like holding so far toward the center of the handle to scrape.

Dad used it 1-2 times and gave up on it and went back to using the old wood handle classic he's had since the 70's.
I'm buying up the flat wood handle snow brushes when I see them at estate sales...............I gave up on mine after 4 months use..
