4Big help with cabinet project...Dec 12, 2009
By Mark Hunsaker
I recently decided to add some Blumotion slow-closing cabinet devices to my kitchen cabinets. My kids slam doors, and these prevent that. Anyway, they had to be installed in the top corner of each cabinet opening, and my cordless drill would not fit in the single cabinet openings. The screws needed to go directly into the side of the cabinet (perpendicular), so the angle of the drill (90 degrees) was very important. I bought both the 7-1/2" EasyPower Flex Extension, and the 11" version (I'm using this review for both). I used both of them depending on how tight the angle was for the screw, and they worked very well!

Most importantly, I was able to get enough torque to pre-drill the holes and then fasten the screws securely. A great feature about these extensions is how you are able to grip the flexible metal tubing along the entire length of the extension and not have it spin in your hands. The actual cable supporting the bit is hidden inside.

They could make a minor improvement on the product... I found that the extension did not stay firmly in my quick-change device that I use for bits on my drill. Sometimes it did, other times it pulled right out. I also noticed that the drill bit or screwdriver bit that goes in the end of the extension does not stay in place. It just slides in and out. Overall though, I was very pleased with my purchase.

2Works well for drilling, but breaks under loadAug 02, 2010
By Delighted
This product works well for its basic purpose -- providing a flexible mechanism to drill or drive fasteners around corners or in hard to reach locations. Unfortunately, when only a bit of load is applied (such as when driving a screw or other fastener), the head of the tool breaks off of the shaft. I had several of these self-destruct in this way, so this appears to be a fundamental limitation of this tool. Bottom line, this is probably ok for drilling, but don't expect to use this to drive screws or other fasteners.

5Very handy item to have in your toolboxNov 06, 2009
By David Craig "There is little that is simple when it comes to making a simple box"
I was taking an old broken chair apart for wood salvage and ran into some tight angles where the maker had put some toenail screws in to keep the legs from sliding out of the hole mortises. I couldn't get a screw bit into the slot with the drill so I picked this item up.

This is a nice sturdy product and the outer sleeve does not turn. This is rather important as it allows you to hold the cable and put more pressure against the screw to insure a tight fit. Other brands twist which forces you to try to apply pressure using the drill which is almost impossible to accomplish when the screw is at an angle. The flex is stiff, so if you are dealing with sharper angles, you should probably look at a longer shaft. The longer the shaft, the more flex you can put into it. I am happy with the product and can think of a dozen situations, easy, in which this will come in handy.

3flex bit..Sep 09, 2011
By icebear
Received it, looks good, but its much stiffer than it looks, which makes handling it abit awkward since you have to you alot of force to hold the bend/flex in place while you screw it. good magnet though, my bit is stuck right on it. Also great that it only rotate internally and not affect your holding on to it. Would be better if it held in place after i flexed rather than needing to hold on to it (with much force too).
