4Simpler, but maybe better.Dec 21, 2010

(Originally posted 10/14/06)
I had a Powerline 45 in the early 90s, and this newer version is quite different. The most obvious difference is that there are no moving parts on this gun; the hammer doesn't move, the thumb safety doesn't move, and there's no removable magazine. At first, it was a little bit disappointing to see it simplified almost to the point of a water pistol, but once I thought about it I decided it might actually pay off in the long run. All those moving parts on the old version, which made it a bit more realistic, ended up wearing out and causing the gun to misfire and eventually break down completely. There's no worry about that here. I'm still a little bit wary of an airgun that's almost completely made of plastic, but as long as nobody throws it against a wall it should be fine for years to come.

Initial power is definitely good. I have no doubt that you could kill a squirrel with it if you were so inclined. The sights aren't adjustable (no moving parts, remember) and they seem to be set just a little bit low, but once you get used to it it's not a problem. The double-action-only trigger also hurts accuracy, but this is just a plinker, after all. Certainly worth the $30.00 I paid at Wal-Mart. As far as CO2 pistols go I wouldn't put it on par with a Crosman 357 (has Daisy EVER been on par with Crosman?) but it's a great buy and fun for both kids and childish adults like myself.

UPDATE: Four years and thousands of shots later, the gun is still working perfectly. It's a lot tougher than it looks, and I'm still very happy with it.

This is a very good gun for the price. Frighteningly so.
Feels and works much like a real one. Very powerful and very accurate.
In addition the seller provides excellent customer service.

1Save your money...Sep 29, 2010

I'm on my second Powerline 15XT pistol and I am experiencing the exact same problem as the first. There is a clear plastic seal where the CO2 cartridge nozzle fits in the handle and this seal is total garbage. This seal has now failed on two consecutive 15XTs. The company will send you additional seals when you call them but that is a sad way to do business - they should fix the design flaw. I use the pistol on occasion (about once or twice a week) but after the third CO2 cylinder you can throw it in the garbage. The pistol simply will not take the fourth cylinder - it will immediately leak when you try to insert a new cylinder displacing all the C02 into the air. Again, this is my second 15XT (less than one year old) with the exact same issue. I will not buy another.

5Great Little Semi-auto.Dec 07, 2011
By Chief Redelk "Chief Redelk"
Shoots pretty true as fast as I can pull the trigger..After 6 months my Co2 bottle would leak as soon as I put a new one in.. I e-mailed Daisy and they sent me a new seal for free with instructions how to install it.. Doing so was as simple as YOU CAN get..I like how easy that fix is.... The seal was leaking due to the fact I always keep a charged Co2 bottle installed. Daisy service informed me you should ALWAYS place a drop of 20 weight NON DETERGENT motor oil (any brand)on the top of the Co2 bottle EVERY TIME before you install a new one..This helps the seals. I also place a drop in the hole where the seal and piercing pin sits. I do that to lube the inside of the gun with the first few shots..I do this EVERY TIME I change Co2 bottles.

IF you DO NOT oil the seals they will not last as long because the top of each Co2 bottle is a tiny bit different than the next. The seal with take the shape of one bottle and not fit the next one properly..

Oil will keep the seals pliable. Without oil the seal will either stick to the top of the old Co2 bottle and or tear when you remove it especially if it's been sitting there clamped tightly for a long time or it will not seal the new bottle..Without oil the seal will loose it's flexibility and may NOT fit the NEW bottle properly therefore that bottle will leak..

Daisy informed me it is not a good idea keep a charged Gun laying up for 2 and 3 weeks at a time.. I do that often that's why my seals went out..Adding a drop of 20 wt motor oil (must be NON detergent)on the top of the bottle before installing is a MUST pleas DO NOT use WD-40 on this gun. I have read that others have ruined air guns using that.

If you buy one of these and have any problems contact Daisy service they are good and helpful.

I will be contacting them soon asking to buy 10 or 12 new seals because I have 3 of these guns and I store a gun fully charged for a month or two all the time. I expect to be changing seals more often. It's EASY to do. ANYONE can do it in 5 minutes. You DO NOT take the gun apart do not let this stop you from buying this gun. The seal is visible when the Co2 is removed..DO not let this scare you. A 10 year old can do it and IF you own Co2 Air guns of any brand you will be wise to learn how to change those bottle seals...

I carry my Daisy BB pistol when I ride my bicycle in the country. That gun gets fired once a week as a test and it sits charged for months before I use up a Co2 bottle entirely.. I had rather replace a few seals along than to use a new Co2 bottle every day..

I give this gun 5 stars..

It saved me from being bitten by a wild animal of some kind. It looked to be Dog-Coyote mix..I was 20 miles from houses on a back road when I saw it charging snapping for my feet. A shot to the butt made it run the other way.

This gun is not intended to be lethal to bigger animals.. It only stings a little but it seems to discourage some animals and cause them to break off the attack..

It may help if a Cougar came for you, not sure. Not long ago two Coyotes killed a lady hiker in Canada.. If she had this BB gun she may be alive today..It's much better than tossing stones unless you are a lot better at that than me. In this area finding a good stone would be another problem.....

I feel safer out doors in the woods with my BB pistol.. I just bought another one for a back up.

Even a bully with a knife or ball bat may not want to be shot 15 times with a stinging BB as he is attacking you.. I would suppose robbers wouldn't like the back window of their car shot out as they make a get away..

Its definitely some amount of protection and it's fun to practice with..

It's a lots cheaper to shoot than real fire arms..

To get fast I recommend you set up at least two targets some distance apart. Fire on one and swing to the other. This teaches you to focus faster. I see kids stand and pump it empty on a bottle never moving. This is not the best way. Keep moving from one target to the other and get fast and accurate.

Once again..I LOVE this gun. I recommend it for any responsible kid but NOT for a 5 or 6 year old. Kids need to be supervised.. My 9 year old, 12, and 14 year old grand sons can hit two 12 oz cola bottles every shot at 10 or 15 yards..I think we may get more than 40 shots per Co2 bottle as well..

I made a cardboard and duct tape holster..I carry an extra Co2 and BB's.. I love this gun and it's legal to carry right on my side..almost anywhere.. Most of the time I hit what I aim at,while riding down the road. FUN. Get you one now..BE safe. BE responsible DO NOT break glass or shoot your local dogs and cats or any pets. Do not kill birds. Do not kill anything at all. Getting shot does hurt and can put an eye out..DO NOT shoot anyone or shoot toward anyone with this gun. YOU may go to jail for assault or animal cruelty. Use this gun to learn gun safety have fun, and teach your friends how to shoot. Blessings, Chief

5Daisy 15xt air pistolDec 08, 2011
By alnewor
Bought the Daisy 15xt air pistol for practice for my 9mm S&W, and bought a laser sight for it.

Practiced with both open sights and laser sight at a fraction of the cost of paying for a pistol range and 9mm bullets.

The trigger pull of the pistol matched the pull of the S&W and when I did go to the range with the S&W, I was spot on.

The Daisy pistol makes a marksman out of anyone at a minimum cost and is tons of fun to shoot. 5 stars for me!!
