Could be made betterNov 09, 2008
By A. Warren This would be a great product if the part that connects to the shower pipe was made of metal instead of plastic. According to the instructions, you are to use a wrench to put the part on even though you are screwing plastic on to metal. I just used my hands to put the part on and it cracked (even though I used plumbers tape as instructed). I went to home depot to see if I could find a metal replacement for it, but they don't sell them. I did however find a plastic replacement which I purchased for $5. I like the product itself as my skin and hair feels better and soap lathers better, however they could have made the part that screws on to the metal shower pipe METAL instead of plastic. Poor design.

Great quality, easy to install, poor angle of spray.Jan 17, 2007
By Ryan Williams PROS: Showerhead was very easy to install, package includes teflon tape, and the improvement in water quality was instantly apparant. Filter type is almost identicle to filters in showerheads significantly more expensive. Installation instructions were very very clear, with several common troubleshooting remedies included. Appearance is good. Filter is very easy to exchange, cheap to purchase, and present in the head itself, instead of an annoying tank taking up space where you might hang a shower caddy. Good quality, aluminum wrapped hose and connectors. Includes easily removable 'water-saving' pressure regulator for high or low pressure water systems. Massage spray is excellent at high pressure.
CONS: The showerhead sprays water straight out, resulting in a 3 inch column of water that doesn't cover the whole body. If you want a shower that sprays at a wide angle, this one won't. The narrow field of spray is all that kept this showerhead from achieving a five-star review.
MISC: The filter is present in the shower head, which increased the overall weight of the handle to about 1-2 lbs. Handle mounts at the bottom, resulting in a very high overhead shower. All hardware (except pipe joints) is chromed plastic, not solid chrome, which significantly reduces weight, but don't drop the thing, or it's liable to crack just like plastic would. Chromed plastic is very common in showerheads and plumbing appliances.
The above user who had problems with her pressure might want to remove or re-situate her pressure regulator, or inspect her supply pipe for a clog, or contact her landlord or a local plumber to ensure there isn't an overall drop of pressure system-wide. Pressure drops wouldn't be readily apparant in sinks, toilets or other low-pressure water devices. The showerhead itself is only channels for distributing water, and (apart from the one regulator valve) has little to do with the pressure achieved by the system before it.

owned for 3 yrs... Love it!Jul 02, 2007
By J. Myers I've used this Culligan Hand Held Shower head for 3 years now, and I just love it. It's one of the best things I've ever purchased, has made my showering much easier and more enjoyable. Love that I can hold the shower head in my hand to just rinse my hair or wash my feet if need be. Open and flip the filter over every 3 months if it seems clogged, change it every 6 months. Could not be better or easier. Wish I would have been using this for the last 25 years!

Fatal Product FlawDec 08, 2010
By Alex Agle I was looking for an inexpensive filtered handheld shower. Culligan sounded like a quality brand, and this item fit the bill, so I bought it.
Installation was relatively straightforward-- wrap Teflon tape around the shower arm, screw on the mounting bracket, and hang up the shower.
My hair felt much softer after using the product. I'm a tall guy, so I was happy that I didn't have to lean over to stand under the shower. I was also looking forward to cleaning my shower using the handheld shower.
After using the shower three times, I noticed that the mounting bracket cracked and separated and the showerhead fell on the floor. I called Culligan's customer service and they sent me a replacement mounting bracket for free under warranty. I then installed the replacement mounting bracket. After using the shower twice, I was in my bedroom and heard a sound in the bathroom. The mounting bracket broke in the exact same way and the showerhead fell on the floor again. I contacted their customer service and told them that their product was flawed. Their mounting bracket is made out of cheap plastic, which is not strong enough to hold the showerhead when it is full of water. They said they would make a note of the design defect and then recommended that I return the shower to where I purchased it.
If I owned Culligan, I would offer customers a free metalic mounting bracket upon request. After doing an Internet search, I found another company offering a similar filtered handheld showerhead with a metal mounting bracket for right around the same price. Culligan is known for their good filters, not their showerheads.

Poor QualitySep 26, 2010
By Allie Purchased about a year ago. Made of plastic so it cracked when tightening the connection during initial installation. Very disappointed. Returned to Amazon for refund.
