5Crosman Competition 7.4 PelletFeb 08, 2011

I bought these pellets for some backyard target practice. I have a low-velocity(625 fps.),Crosman pneumatic rifle. I use an inexpensive red dot sight, a Daisy.

I was pleasantly suprised at the quality of the pellets. The uniformity was perfect--no deformed pellets in the tin. Also, there was a minimum of lead dust on the pellets when compared to some other pellets I have purchased. In fact, the Crosman Competition pellets had very little lead dust on them or in the tin. As far as accuracy is concerned, they were excellent. The Crosman Competition pellets provided impressive accuracy while shooting 1-inch targets at 10 to 15 yards. In addition, they punch nice clean holes in the targets for easy spotting. I do have one criticism or wish though: The pellet could be heavier--maybe 7.9 or 8 grains. A heavier Crosman Competition pellet would allow its use for small pest control.

So, if you are looking for inexpensive pellets for backyard target practice and fun, think about Crosman Competition pellets. I would strongly recommend them.

Fired the .177 wadcutters in a friends new, out of the box, daisy powerline 901, at 50 feet, and without any sight adjustments, iron sights, 10 pumps,4 shots fired were 1/2", 3/8", 3/16", 1/4" off the center of a cross-haired center target. I fired only 4 shots out of the box, amazing, measured them with a ruler. Performance for ammo and gun were beyond our expectations.

These pellets aren't going to kill a woodchuck for you, but that isn't what they are made for. As a backyard plinking pellet, they work perfectly. While my BBs drop at 25-30yards, the pellets fly straight out to about 50-60. Great pellets.

These pellets have visible seams on them and are quite inconsistent. They don't shoot well at all in my crosman phantom(2-4 inch groups at 20 yds). The skirts aren't very good quality and show visible deformations. They do shoot better groups with a 600 fps gun but if you want an inexpensive pellet the destroyers are the ones to get. Iv'e managed sub 1 inch groups with the destroyers in my crosman pumpmaster.

this item is one of the best all around pellets for hunting small game and target shooting crosman wadcutter .177 are the best for the price
