It may not be the prettiest thing, but it works great and I've had no problems with it. It is a great thing to have the light come on automatically when you open the door, and it required no electrical work (just plug it into an outlet).

This was just what I needed for my dark pantry. However, I mounted it down low near the bottom of the door and screwed one of those Socket-To-Outlet Adapters into it to turn it into an outlet. I plugged in a set of rope lights and ran in around the trim on the INSIDE of the pantry doorway. This way, the entire pantry is lit up each time I open the door. I don't even see the actual rope lights and the automatic closet light is down low on the door jamb where I don't even notice it. Inexpensive, effective, not too unattractive.

I didn't want a wimpy battery operated closet light and I didn't want to have a chain to pull every time I opened the closet door. So, this is perfect. I have an outlet just outside my closet for plugging this in and there it is: off when the door is closed, on when it's open.

Was going to install an electric box with switch but had forgotten I had a power plug already in the front entry closet for the security system. All I had to do was mount this unit and plug it in! Could not have been easier or cheaper. Should have done this years ago.
