I purchased these shears for home use. They are great! I highly recommend them. Over the holidays, they really came in handy with all of the difficult packaging that now comes with most toys and small electronics. I was worried that my 6-year old might do some damage, but there is a thumb-controlled lock which keeps her from using the shears without a parent's help.

We really like these snips. We have four sets and use them for everything. They are sharp and tough. I used it cut branches with outside one day. We have cut vinyl base board with it, copper wire, metal for flashing buildings. I would buy another pair.

Definitely worth the price.

I use these to cut Paracord, leather, cardstock, plastic, and poster board.

Pros:

- The blades are sharp and fit together superbly.
- The grip is very nice.
- The spring action and lock are buttery smooth.
- The blade is curved to provide a handy notch for cutting things like rope.

Cons:

- Can't cut wire. Ruined my pair trying.

Bottom line: get a pair.

I can't say enough how much I love this product. I happened upon it at Fry's and thought it might come in handy for cutting open those really annoying plastic packages that they use for everything now-adays (I work with computers and gadgets a lot and EVERYTHING is packaged in hard-to-cut plastic it seems.)

Much, much better than regular scissors for this type of job, and for cutting zip ties, boxes, etc. Powerful enough to slice through most any plastic like it was nothing, but also has a long enough blade to make extended cutting easy. I'm buying two more!!!

I was having problems cutting some of my horse's easyboots with my kitchen scissors which is why I purchased these shears. They cut through the plastic like it was butter. The handles are made for a larger hand I think, but no matter. It did its job well!
