4Great product to remove old copper ringsApr 13, 2012
By vududude
Tried to put on a new supply to a faucet with the old copper fitting, but leaked afterwards. I didn't want to have to cut the copper pipe since it was already pretty close to the wall. After reading up on the internet came across this tool. Works like a charm. ONly reason 4 instead of 5 stars was that it was a little awkward to squeeze the two side bars to keep it on the nut behind the ferrule, it kept slipping off when tightening, but overall solid and well build and does the job.

4Good toolFeb 13, 2012

I like to replace all old multi-turn valves with quarter turn valves, and used to leave the old ugly nut. Now, I use this tool to pull the compression ring, letting me put on a pretty new nut AND a nice new un-split decorative flange below it. The results are much more professional and I haven't damaged any pipes with this tool. I would expect that a very old corroded pipe could have issues with any manipulation, however.

5Will pull the most corroded faucet handleAug 09, 2011

The city I live in is renown for having a lot of sediment/minerals in the tap water. This causes faucets, handles, and anything water touches to oxidize and calcify very quickly. I moved into an old apartment where all of the faucet handles and valves were quite literally fused together. The landlord was too cheap to hire a plumber, so I bought this. Being unable to remove the handles by hand and trying a lot of different methods, this tool worked like a charm. Just looking at the design you can see why it works. Just secure the clasps to the back of the handle, then tighten the screw to force it up.

This can also be handy in separating a stuck socket.
