Decent tool with well tunned parts... Haven't found one yet with a spring loaded centering plug to hold it concentric.

I agree with Joe D. I bought this tool to reseat an outdoor frost free faucet, thinking it was 12" long. The plastic bag it comes in is only 11" long and that includes the flap. Joe was being generous when he said the tool was 6 5/8" long. Measured from the face of the cutting surface to the tee handle, it is only 6" long. So if you use the centering adapter, it is not even 6" long. Shame on you Amazon!

I ordered the "long" stem reseating tool to fix an outside frost free faucet that has an 8 inch stem. The specifications for this product said the length of the tool is 12 inches. Great, it should be long enough for the job. Unfortunetely, the tool is only 6 5/8 inches long, just like the others I saw in the big box stores. What's with the 12 inches long spec?
