5Handy air dryer that stores tinyMay 17, 2005
By Tara M
I have a small place and need to be able to air dry without dedicating space to a stacking rack. These fold up into about a 12" x 7" oval - the squishing is a little tougher than the car windshield sun reflectors as they're much sturdier, but the theory is the same. They have a strap which fastens with a buckle on the bottom to create the arch which lifts the mesh off the ground. Alternatively, they fit across the bathtub. Drying time is good with both sides open to air. Sleeves do need to be folded over (as shown) or left to hit the ground when using in the arched position as the oval isn't big enough to handle them - this is an OK tradeoff for me as to make it big enough to handle sleeves the dryer would have to be gigantic. All in all these are a great solution.

5Great Space-Saving Design!Oct 18, 2007
By The Two Hsus
As far as sweater dryers go, drying is drying. I don't think sweaters dry any different from one drying rack to another. The great thing about this particular dryer is it's innovative pop-open design. Saves a great deal of space being able to be folded up and stowed away in a drawer. Very satisfied with this product.

5great itemFeb 23, 2007

I have some embellished holiday sweaters that needed special laundering care and didn't want to hang them over a line and get that nasty crease. Bought 4 of these pop-open mesh dryers and spread them over our guest room mattress. There's a strap underneath so you can tighten the dryer to create a dome shape. Or just undo the strap and lay it flat over the tub as was stated by other user. They are quite sturdy and easy enough to handle. Once folded back up, there's another strapy band to wrap around it which keeps it from popping open. I'm very glad I got these!

5Pleasantly practicalAug 07, 2010

I am writing this review because I did not find instructions in previous reviews, at the time I ordered mine, as to HOW to get it to fold back into its original, compact storage shape. Here is that information, which is the whole purpose of this review:

* HOW TO FOLD IT BACK UP FOR STORAGE, ONCE YOU'VE OPENED IT FLAT: *
Grasp each of the two ends of the oval, and twist your hands in opposite directions, rotating one wrist away from you and the other towards you. In this way, force the frame to bend as though you wanted to make a figure-8 of it. It will begin to "willingly" cooperate, once twisting--into a neat, flat stack of about three loops (so, you will not end up with it in a figure-8, but of course you never did care about actually making a figure-8, you only want the thing to fold neatly).
Ta-daaaa!
It comes with a handy elastic band to place around it while folded flat, to secure it.

Update after a few occasions to use this rack: works great for me. It offers air flow all around the items to be dried. Yes, there is a size limit to what will fit on it, but it is quite practical for single blouses or sweaters if you fold the arms across the front (or back) and have the patience for those extra layers to dry. Some items have room to fit on it without needing to be folded. The rack looks, feels, and handles like a well-made product of quality materials, appropriately robust for its intended purpose, truly. The design is clever and useful.
I recommend it!

2Drips off the sides, tricky to balance over sinkSep 30, 2008
By E. Cho
The arch design makes the water drip off the sides instead of straight down. It is tricky to balance this thing over my laundry room sink. After you put a heavy item on top, you have to re-balance the whole thing over the sink. It might work better over a bathtub but that is not an option for me.

Easy to store, takes such little space. The buckle system is a good idea. I would not buy this product again. I think the flat racks might work better but take up more storage space.
