Good NM (Romex) Wire StripperApr 19, 2006

This stripper has both sizes 12 and 14, I bought this one but prefer the Klein models which have only the one wire size, as you can try to strip 12 AWG Romex sheathing with the 14 AWG notch and nick you conductors if you are not careful. But it is handy to have both sizes in one for smaller jobs. Very easy to strip off the sheathing with the Klein strippers. Tool is very good quality, but could use a re-designed catch also, on my pair the catch swings around and interfers with stripping sometimes.

This tool not only strips 12 and 14 gauge wire, it removes the outer jacket on 12/2 and 14/2 romex, and can cut and rethread 6-32 and 8-32 screws and bolts. This is a great tool for the residential electrician, I find it has been a huge timesaver. Good quality construction, made in America! This tool will always have a place in my tool bucket!

I've had this tool for over year, works great. Really easy to strip the outer insulation from 12/2 and 14/2 NM (Romex) wire. Would highly recommend this.

Slick, Quick cable stripperOct 07, 2009

Even for just a couple of projects this is worth the investment. Slick, quick. The only way to strip cable is with a razor sharp knife or one of these. If you don't have one of these no matter how careful you try to be you KNOW you will occasionally split the insulation on the inner cable. Sometimes no big deal, you have enough cable to start over, but sometimes there's no slack and you end up with a problem. This thing works easily, no screw ups. Should have bought it 30 years ago.

For any amount of electrical work - this is the tool you have to have in your bag. I used it in refinishing my basement, so it got a major workout - still like new.
