Good car compass for the money. Doesn't bounce around as much as some others (movement well damped). Inadequate compensating magnets (true of some others as well), so that the mounting position has to be as far as possible from other metal or magnetic influences. Compensating magnets adjustment screws are in BASE of compass, making adjustment difficult.Custom Accessories 18100 Sport Compass

The compass directions called for opening the compass to install the battery provided. Try as I might I could not open the devise. I returned it and got a prompt refund.
