My P-22 is approaching 40 years old & is the absolute BEST plier type stapler I have ever used or owned, heavy duty industrial or otherwise. The only drawback has always been -- & still is -- difficulty in finding its proprietary staples. However, this has been all but alleviated with the web!! No more hunting, just a web search turns up this & various locations to get them. They were always available from the company, but until the Internet I had problems locating them (My P-22 is stamped "Brookyln, NY" and they are not there anymore --just Saddle Brook, NJ). Being on my last box of 5000, I've only used it sparingly for the tough jobs, while daily needs were met with inferior products, using readily obtainable standard --ie, easily replaced -- staples. Now that I can easily find the staples, I can return to using exclusively my P-22, the absolute BEST!!

I got sick of never having a stapler around my office, so I purchased this one. It does a fantastic job of stapling from ~2 - 40+ pieces of paper. Not only that, but it looks tough, and the added knuckle guard means it works great when I need to rough-up my coworkers.

EDIT: Also, this seems to be an effective bottle opener as well. Basically, best stapler ever.

I owned one for years and used it a lot through a youth organization. This stapler has never worked like it should. I should of sent it back and got it replaced. I just never had the time to do it. Yes I would buy another one for the chance of getting two that wedged the staples in it would be rare.

I had long owned one of these and continually had problems with the stapler jamming. I'd fight with a pair of needle nose pliers to clear the jam, after which the unit would work for some (usually short) amount of time. Finally reaching my wits end, I decided to try again. Thinking after all these years, surely this issue had been resolved. Surely it had not. Bottom line is 6 months later, the new unit too is in the trash. I won't be back for a third.

This fine piece of equipment can staple an absurd amount of paper together. This stapler can be loaded with 6MM or 8MM staples. 6MM should be used for everyday stapling, such as 2-20 pages. 8MM is for serious business, like cardboard boxes or towering stacks of receipts, as the 8MM may over-penetrate with smaller jobs and cause the sharp point of the staple to appear on the front of your pages. One of the previous reviewers said that the P22 stapler can be used as a bottle opener in a dire emergency, and he is correct. The disassembly lever on the back of the P22 does the trick. The P22 stapler only uses P22 staples, and these can be found at hardware stores usually. All in all, this stapler and the staples are pricy, yet the quality is unsurpassed.
