2Leaves black stuff on your clothes!!!Oct 30, 2009
By T. Welch "Free2Bme"
This iron is just not working out for me. I iron several of my sons white shirts for work and I am so tired of washing them only to stain them during ironing. I do not use starch, so not sure what the black gunky stuff is that stays on the iron, but it does come off onto your clothes. Now in the market for a better iron. I would say if you have not bought this one yet, move on and find another brand. Gave it 2 stars because it does heat up and the cord is long enough. That's about all I can say for it.

2Not that greatMar 08, 2009

This iron is used 2-3 times a month. The heat up time is about a minute long. The steam is sometimes intermittent, but, when present, is in good quantity. The "balance" of the iron is odd, if you can imagine the palm of your hand in the handle, it sits well behind the middle of the heat plate - a slightly awkward feel so far. I have even thought of chalking this one up to experience, and going to a store to "feel" the models, and get another one. (The long cord is nice) The iron does finally heat up, and glide over clothes, steaming a nice crease. (My "old" black and decker was just fine, maybe I just hate change!)

2Not so Easy IronMar 22, 2012
By R. Putnam
I bought this because I trust the brand. I bought it at ACE Hardware because I was there for something else, and remembered I needed an iron NOW! Needless to say I paid twice as much for it! On plus side, it's going to be really easy to take back! It splashes water out like I have never seen a steam iron do. It uses more water for steam than I have ever had a steam iron do...not counting what drips out when it isn't splashing. The non-stick bottom is horrible, not slick at all. The second time I turned it on, it didn't heat up properly until I played around with the controls. When you use the spray feature, it sprays way out in front of the iron, not down where you are actually ironing. The shot of steam actually works good. The balance was OK for my hand, and the cord is nice and long. Too many negatives for me. Wish I had been able to wait...but at least I did get ironed what I had to iron...and it didn't mess anything up, just got a few things wet. But, now I still need to get another iron.

1Worst. Iron. Ever.Jul 11, 2011

Concur with previous reviewers comments. Leaks water like crazy, even when water level is well below the "max" line. Sticks to clothes. Returning it. B&D should stick to power tools.

1A black eye for Black & Decker..Jan 11, 2011
By Yours Truly
I am among those folks who detest returning products, and also among
those who had a good respect for the B&D name. After getting the stainless
steel sole plate version of this iron my faith in the B&D name is dented.
If nothing else, making irons does not seem to be B&D's forte.
After owning this iron for three days -after my 10+ year old Sunbeam 9635 died-
I am faced with two options: One to get a plumber to run a copper water line to
next to my ironing board, or to package this thing and take it to where I
bought it. Guess which option I'll have to take?
B&D thought that by just sticking a 'No Drip' label on this thing they would
make the users believe that no water is dripping, even when this thing sheds
water like a flower watering pot. Perhaps B&D's iron designing team do a first.
Try one of their own creations themselves, this iron. They'll be amazed to find how fake their labels are...
