I purchased this latch to replace a faulty latch securing a hardwood door on a large piece of my mother's heirloom furniture. This quality magnet was strong enough to securely hold the cabinet door in place with a satisfying "click". Other magnetic latches we tried had been too weak and cheaply made to do the job properly. I rate this magnetic latch 5 Stars for quality all-metal construction and a nice strong magnet. Great Product at a bargain price!

I use it for holding full sized closet doors closed (with dummy handle). I'm surprised how strong it is. Too bad it has the woodgrain, but I could not find an equivalent anywhere so I just painted over it (I am sure some people want the woodgrain, but I could not find it without the woodgrain which is odd). Anyway, very very good.

I didn't pay attention to the description, as I just wanted to replace an existing plastic door magnet. When it came, and saw it was steel, I was pleasantly surprised. The original lasted over 13 years, so I expect this to last at least as long. It has a strong magnet, and should keep the door shut better than the one it replaced.
