The Wenzel lidded compass does the job it is intended to do. The down side to its ability to do said job is that it does NOT give an accurate reading immediatly. The needle points to a general North and then continues to sway left and right of north for a minute or so. Even while manipulating the tab on the side to slow the needles movement seems ineffective at times. Most people who need a bearing would like it in a timely matter. This compass will most likely get you out of the woods, but it will take you longer.

Flimsy, cheap, and rickety. Not good quality and I wouldn't want to depend on it. Not what I hoped for...but it looks pretty.

You get what you pay for - it is good for children to learn but wouldn't recommend it for adult use.

This compass does not work. My daughter wanted a "silver compass" from santa for christmas and I chose this compass but when I got it, it would not point to north. Very disappointed. I ended up getting a different compass and she loves that instead.

I bought this compass as a backup to always have in my edc pack. I have a more advanced and technical compass for mapping and navigation. This is just a cheap guy I bought to make sure I always had at least an idea of the direction I was going. Good price and seems to do its job fine.
