I am a professional painter and I was looking for a way to speed up the scraping process on wooden clapboards on an old house that was in terrible shape and had not been painted for about 13 years. This product is amazing. It was taking me about 30 hours per side to scrape. With these wheels I'm moving 3x faster and the result is far superior to that of a carbide blade hand scraper. The only drawback is that the wheels don't last very long on this particular house (as I mentioned it is in really bad shape). I'm getting about 80-100 sqft out of each wheel. You still need to do a little scraping by hand in the hard to reach spots and around metal (screws, nails, hooks, etc.) but the wheel gets about 95% of it.

Well, The EPA has decided that lead paint is really poisonous now so it's illegal to use these on lead paint. Too bad...

These discs work great for removing paint and rust from most metal surfaces with a 4 1/2 grinder. It is the quickest, least hassle method I have found. This is a great option for a hobbyist like me. I was able to strip a body of a Jeep in one afternoon with 4 discs. You don't need an industrial air compressor to power a sandblaster. You can't get in to tight corners with the disk but if you were to just get a small spot sandblaster you could get just as good of results in half the time. Wear dust masks and eye protection because it will produce fine particulates that you should not be breathing.

These discs are cheaper at Home Depot locally. My Home Depot was charging $8.95 for them.

Better yet look up[...]and get them for $3.75.

This disc did a great job stripping paint off my wood siding. I got about 7 hours of continuous use out of just one disc.

Using it to remove some tar from basement floor. It's much higher quality than the ones from lowes and home depot.

When I mounted mine on my grinder, using the proper adapter, it was about 1/8 inch out of true, causing lots of vibration and some contact with the grinder's metal guard. When the thing going to spin at 11000 RPM, it needs to be exactly centered. The mounting system is not very robust: the threads are formed out of one turn of sheet metal, not a very precise design. I've had much better performance from the Norton Rapid Strip 04015 which has a metal casting for its threads. I've only been able to find the Norton at Sears, about $12.00.

The abrasive itself worked well and seems to have about the same durability as the Norton.
